Nikki Duchenne is an expatriate South African, now living in Mauritius with her Mauritian husband.
She lived and worked in the UK for several years, initially gaining valuable experience as an events organiser for Imperial College London while studying for a diploma in Hotel Management at London Hotel School.
After completing her studies, Nikki worked for the events and catering division at MCC Lord’s Cricket ground, followed by a long stint managing the events and in-house catering department for a unique conservation venue, The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust in Central London. Nikki was involved with managing a variety of events, large and small, and was responsible for every aspect, from first enquiry through to the occasion itself. Events include AGM's, private lunch and dinner celebrations, weddings, corporate meetings and conferences, company days out, product launches and themed evenings. As well as event management, she oversaw the busy restaurant and kitchen that also caters for the events.
With experience in every aspect of event management, Nikki finely appreciates that successful events rest on a close understanding of a client's needs and budgetary considerations, in open communication and in keeping a sharp eye on the detail.
